Dr. Elizabeth Martinsen Elizabeth Martinsen received her DVM degree in 1989 from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After two years in private practice in Brazil she pursued a Masters Degree in equine reproduction at Texas A&M University, College Station (1991-1993). During the summer of 1997 Dr. Martinsen completed a 3-year residency program at The Ohio State University where she received advanced training in animal reproduction as well as serving as a clinical instructor. While at Ohio State Dr. Martinsen became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology. From the beginning of 1998 until the fall of 1999 Dr. Martinsen worked in private practice for Specifically Equine Veterinary Services in Buellton, California. Until January of 2005 Dr. Martinsen was affiliated with Firethorn Equine Services, Lancaster, Ohio.
